Razon e Inteligencia…

"I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use."
Galileo Galilei
Que tal? Increible frase, verdad? Me gustaria saber sus opiniones!!!

The Blessing of Slumber

Have you ever seen a baby sleep? These past couple of days I just marvel over watching Isabella, my daughter, sleep. What peace!!!

It’s amazing how God is mindful of us even in those times of complete "unconsciousness" and helplessness. When the world is completely shut out and we are left to ourselves and God’s watchful eye over our rest, and on our minds as He directs our dreams.

Sleep, rest and sweet slumber are an amazing gift and blessing from God! We must learn how to truly rest, both physically and in Him, without abusing the gift, but getting the maximum out of it!!!

Psalm 3:8
Psalm 4:5
Psalm 127:2

Lullaby and good night, with roses bedight
With lilies o’er spread is baby’s wee bed
Lay thee down now and rest, may thy slumber be blessed
Lay thee down now and rest, may thy slumber be blessed

Lullaby and good night, thy mother’s delight
Bright angels beside my darling abide
They will guard thee at rest, thou shalt wake on my breast
They will guard thee at rest, thou shalt wake on my breast

(Brahms Lullaby)

The Cruelty of Life’s “What If’s”…..

Won’t you agree with me, that many times, life’s "what if’s" are cruel? I mean…you ponder the possibilities, and yet, are left with an empty helplessness of things that "could’a, should’a, would’a"….

I mean, what is the purpose of these "what if’s"? Is there a lesson to glean from missed opportunities, unnoticed signs and split second points of no return? When the road splits in two, and you take one road, and leave the other do you weigh the cost of opportunity?

Funny how things work out….both things that you regret and those that you don’t but know they were a definite possibility. And yet, as Dr. Ian Malcom said in Jurassic Park…"life finds a way", and we are subject to God’s merciful sovereignty.

I probably will continue struggling with these questions for some time…and probably will never find an answer…I can just trust that all things in the end, have, are and will continue to work for good, for those of us who abide in Him.
